Along with the local efforts to develop and promote the tourist attractions and destinations of this Municipality is also the effort of the community to maintain a clean and green environment. The positive result of this joint community effort is not just a healthy environment but also the honors and awards that the Municipality of Lanuza has received for having been consistently adjudged as the Cleanest and Greenest Municipality both in the Provincial and Regional levels since 1997. In fact, in Calendar Year 2002 this Municipality has been declared as the National Winner in the Nationwide Search for the Cleanest and Greenest Municipality of the Philippines. Until now, this acclamation has been consistently managed by the LGU with the active participation of its local constituents.
