Lanuza is approximately 44 kilometers away from the capital town of Tandag where the airport and seaport are located. These facilities are owned and maintained by the government to cater both commercial, industrial, and government business transactions of the Province of Surigao del Sur and its neighboring municipalities and provinces.

The majority of the population belongs to the rural area and majority of the entire population do not own private vehicles, thus the need for transportation is much needed. The total road length within the municipality is 51.92 kilometers. Of the 18 kilometers of Lanuzaa's national road, 5.34 kilometers are concrete; and of the 4.21 kilometers of Lanuza's municipal road, only 3.67 kilometers are concrete while 0.54 kilometers are gravel. The 29.71 kilometer barangay roads however remain gravel.

There are only one communication carrier in Lanuza - the Telecom. It has a capacity of 3,000 for its Telegraph Services and 3,500 for its Telegraphic Transfer. It is very evident that the municipality lacks communication lines, but the presence of Telecom, Smart and Globe is indeed very helpful. Meanwhile, there is also only one postal service facilities which receives, sends and delivers letter communications to the whole populace.

There is no radio and television station in Lanuza. However several radio stations from its adjoining towns and provinces can be heared in the town. For FM radios, radio stations from Cantilan, Madrid and almost all Cebu radio stations can be heared. For the Television station, many channels can be accessed through CATV cable services.

Finally, Lanuza has no locally based print media. People get their copies of local and national newspapers from Tandag, the capital town. Nevertheless, internet connection is available provided by Smart Telecommunications.
